

Born in Alsenz, Germany, he survived the Holocaust on the last kinder transport out of Germany in 1939. He served in the US Army in World War II, and lived in Madison Park, Old Bridge, N.J. for almost 50 years. Mr. Honig was a teacher for the Clark Township School District for over 30 years, where he taught shop at the junior high level. He was active in scouting and other community development activities, and was a founding member of Congregation Beth Ohr.
Mr. Honig was pre-deceased by his wife Molly in 2006. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Rudina and David Richter of Valrico, FL; his son and daughter-in-law, Jordan and Marty Honig of Kansas City, MO; his son and daughter-in-law, Benson and Dena Honig of Dundas, Canada; his seven grandchildren, Peregrine (and husband Mark), Samara (and husband Nat), Ari, Manya, Alon, Esther, and Shanee; and his great grandson, Simon.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Internment will follow at Beth Israel Mordechai Cemetery in Sayreville, NJ. Donations in his memory may be made to
