June 16, 1937 - May 24, 2025
Jerry Bond was born on June 16,1937 and raised in the Moshulu Parkway neighborhood of the Bronx, NY. He grew up with his parents, Alter and Celia, and older brother, Marvin, at a magical time, “the fabulous 50s.” He developed many lifelong friends. He loved to play sports and rooted for the Yankees. Jerry's father opened Bond’s Candy Store, where Jerry would work for his dad.
After completing his education, Jerry served briefly in the National Guard. His first career was in the dental industry. He then moved on to the garment industry and eventually retired from Bestform Industries in 2002. From there he dedicated time to perfecting his golf game and managed the golf course near home. He served as President of his HOA Board and was very involved in the community.
Jerry cherished his wife, Helene. She was the center of his universe. He loved the arts, theater, and was always curious about the world. He and Helene were snowbirds and attended adult education courses every winter at Florida Atlantic University – focusing on film, world events, history and more.
Jerry was a caring and loving person who always had a smile on his face and saw the positive in everything. He was dedicated to family and put them first always. He would drop anything for anyone, including his various friend groups – from childhood relationships formed in the Bronx to his friends in Florida and every friend in between. Jerry nurtured these relationships with visits, travel, emails, annual reunions and lots of dinners and lunches.
But the biggest joy of his life was his large family. He delighted in watching his grandchildren grow. He babysat, went to all their games, dance recitals, and anything else that he could be a part of. Finally, he was thrilled to welcome great-grandchildren into his life and give them all his love.
Jerry is survived by his loving family, which includes his beloved wife, Helene, his children, Cliff and his wife Emily and Jackie and her husband Brian from his first marriage, and their children; Adam, Kyle, Katie and Zach, as well as Jill and her husband Barry and Beth and her husband John, and their children Alyson her husband Michael, Jackie and her husband Bevan, Jordan and his wife Marni, Stacey, Jessica and her husband Anthony & Nicole and her boyfriend Brian, as well four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
We thank everyone for their support and condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry’s name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
