Cindy, I just heard about your terrible loss. I am numbed and heartbroken about your dear Morgan and for you and your family. Morgan was an excellent colleague. She was incredibly kind to her coworkers and through her tireless efforts in the courtroom, she made a world of a difference to her clients. We were so lucky to have her on our team, albeit for way too short of a time. I will  remember Morgan most for her generosity - she was always sharing homemade baked goods. Her black sesame and matcha cookies were my favorite in the entire world!

I was heartbroken to hear about the loss of beautiful, stylish, bright, funny Morgan. We sat next to each other in practice class at NYU. When I started the program, I didn't know if my fellow students would want to befriend a "mature" (middle-aged) student like myself, but Morgan struck up a conversation immediately and had me laughing in no time. She had a real presence in that room, and everyone seemed to gravitate to her. A true light. I extend my deepest condolences to Morgan's family for their unimaginable loss.

To the Leon Family, it’s hard to put into words my appreciation for Morgan. She cared so much about others and she showed that on a daily basis. She went above and beyond for her clients and for her coworkers. You could always count on Morgan to be supportive and kind and to be fully engaged in whatever you wanted to talk about - whether it was about the job or about life. And she was SO incredibly funny. Her wit made me crack up constantly. Her running commentary on the legal system and our role was so brilliant and exactly what we needed. I kept telling her she was a real comedian (which she would laugh off) but I meant that fully. She made the courthouse a brighter and better place. She had so many passions and so many interests - she was a baker and a reader and tv enthusiast. She taught me so many things I never knew - my favorite is that the NY Public Library has an app and I could make my life 1000x easier by requesting books through it. I let her and anyone within earshot in the office know she improved my life with that tidbit (which she also laughed off - Morgan was very humble) but I meant it. She improved my life for a lot of reasons, and I’m thinking about you daily, Leon family. She loved you so much and I hope the memories shared here have helped in even the smallest way. Thinking of you.

I met Morgan about 4 years ago at NYU. I was immediately drawn to her infectious smile and incredible fashion sense, but ultimately it was heart huge heart that won me over. As our friendship deepened, Morgan and I began to share our struggles and pain with each other - I always felt so seen by her. Some of my favorite memories of her include bonding over DBT and how much it helped us. 

I will carry her with me every day moving forward. To her family, I am so sorry for your immense loss. Know that my heart is also with you. 

I met Morgan through her participation in the Student Leadership Council at NYU Silver, where I work in the Communications Office. I remember Morgan's warmth and enthusiasm, and how encouraging and supportive she was to the new MSW students she guided through orientation and into the academic year.  The world is so much poorer for her loss and my heart goes out to her family and all her loved ones.

Morgan was in my Practice I and II classes. She was truly a lovely and kind young woman. She was empathic and giving to her elderly clients. Her field supervisor and her clients truly appreciated her. In class she always had a smile on her face. In her second year at school I occasionally saw her within her role in student government. Morgan was a great team player, hard worker and peace maker in sometimes contentious student government affairs.

SHE HAS TOUCHED THE HAND OF HASHEM AND HASHEM IS BETTER FOR IT

I am sending my deepest condolences to the Leon family. Morgan was truly such a bright light to every room she walked in. Morgan became one of my closest friends during our time at NYU. She helped me in so many ways to become the person I am today. She listened when I needed an ear, she pushed me to leave my comfort zone and was always there to support me in whatever I did or didn’t do. I’ll never forget the amazing memories we shared and created. From sampling interesting food spots on our tasty treat Thursdays, to celebrating our birthdays together, to talking about guys and the stresses of our field. Morgan was always up for an adventure, even if it meant dragging her out of bed at 4 am to run down the streets of NYC to get a good spot for a Harry Styles show (which we didn’t). She was truly one of the most amazing people I have met and I’m so grateful to have the memories with her.  May her spirit and memory live on in the hearts of all who were blessed with her company 💕

Morgan, my little sister that I never had, my roommate, my close close friend, you will always remain in my heart and I will do my best to honor your memory every day. I am changed because I knew you.  Andy, Cindy, and Jordan, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. You all were everything to Morgan, she loved you so much. 

Where do I even begin. For a year I sat across from wonderful, empathic, funny, sarcastic Morgan in our practice class. We didn't know each other well but I knew I liked her. I was overjoyed when I found out we were both completing our second-year internship at NYSPI. I remember jumping up and down with her and talking about all of the roof top bars we would hang out on that summer. Every Friday we would have group supervision and she would just make everyone laugh and laugh. Everyone loved her and she made the group. There was also DBT bootcamp. I could not have done it without wonderful Morgan and her favorite Glossier lip-gloss.  We took a serious-mental illness class together and Morgan just cared so so much about helping others, it was so genuine and so inspirational.  I felt like I could tell her anything - my empathic, genuine little sister that I never had.

And then we were roommates. She was the best. We always joked about how we were made to live together, we lived in such  harmony. I would dive into her bed and watch TV with her, we would sit on the couch and watch movies and reality TV (always with a big bowl of popcorn). We would put make-up on and get ready in front of her mirror just like we were high-schoolers getting reading for a school dance. We would go out spontaneously for dinner and take long walks in the neighborhood.  We never stopped laughing. And boy did she love her plants and baking. She was the best roommate, little sister I never had, and friend. 

The Leons, my deepest, deepest condolences. You are in my thoughts and I hope you find comfort and peace during these difficult times.

 My heart goes out to you all and my deepest condolences and prayers. Where do I even begin with the memories? Morgan is the girl I called my one true friend I found at NYU. She was my NYU person and even more a guiding light in a career and world that I was finding increasingly difficult to understand myself in. I am who I am because over the last 3 years my friendship with Morgan built it. Our trust built slowly, meeting on the very first day of classes and growing over coffee dates, bottomless brunches and making use of the NYC around us. What will live with me forever is the subtle compassion, love and grace she always showed me. The consistency in her ability to show up as a friend and as a constant support. That every outing (though fun and filled with great laughs and full bellies) turned into a slow unraveling of our inner selves. Over time this built into the safety of our friendship and bond. I’m so sorry for your loss. May her memory be a blessing 🌈Morgan Leon forever. 🌈

My deepest condolences to the Leon family. You are in my heart and prayers. 

I really loved every moment with Morgan. We shared so many laughs, heart breaks from dumb boys, and good dinners together. We loved spooky stuff and did a haunted house tour last October and we both laughed about how it wasn’t scary at all. We loved having lychee martinis during dinners and bloody Mary’s at brunches. I will miss our hour long breaks together at CASES and trying different lunch spots all the time. You had the most adorable smile! Our friendship is everlasting. Thank you for teaching me so much about life. Much love 💕

I am so very sorry to read this. Morgan was a wonderful young lady. I worked with her at day camp. She was one of my counselors. I adored her and will have so many fond memories of her.
