Rhonda Matusow

Rhonda Matusow passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 7, 2021; born in Philadelphia in 1950. Rhonda had lived in Englishtown, NJ for 63 years in the same house she had since childhood. She worked at Nestles in Freehold, NJ on line production most of her adult life before retiring in 2012 after 38 years.

She is predeceased by her mother, Yetta, in 1982 and her father, Benjamin, in 1991. Surviving are her lifelong friends, Janet Oberhuber and Andy Scotto, her brother Joel and his wife Lynn. Rhonda was a big believer in dining out. In fact, she had no stove, just a microwave and a crock pot. Her daily routine always included a meal or two at the All Seasons II Diner in Freehold. The staff was like family to her as well as all the customers she came to know over the years. Other hot spots for her was Comfi's, Terrace Bagels and Perkins just to name a few. Because salt was eliminated from her diet, she would bring an assortment of spices to each restaurant to enhance her taste buds. Whether at the All Seasons Diner, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or Panera, Rhonda always enjoyed a good cup of coffee.

Rhonda was an avid cruiser, having sailed over 70 times on various cruise lines, sometimes with her brother Joel and her sister-in-law Lynn, or with good friends; and in many years past, with her father. At times, Rhonda would cruise solo. She was always making new friends, talking to anybody who was willing to listen.

Rhonda was a big fan of all the "Rocky" movies and watched then over and over again. She also loved Elvis Presley and much of her time was spent listening to many CD's. She loved watching the reruns of "Law and Order SVU" and some days would watch marathon sessions.

Rhonda was a kind, generous and a very funny person. She filled the room with laughter and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was truly loved by all.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 361 Highway 79, Morganville (Marlboro), NJ 07751. There will be no Shiva.
