I met Steven when I moved into 925 some 70 years ago and became good friends growing up- we lost track of each other but reconnected at the Glenwood Projects reunion around 2000 and have been in touch with each other ever since. We would speak every so often on the phone since we reconnected and we would have some really good laughs, talk some politics and kid around about Michael Yellin. Steven was a great person, and I always enjoyed speaking with him, we had a lot of fun together in the old days. My deepest condolences to Phyllis and the entire family- he will truly be missed.

About seven years ago Steven and I met, and became reacquainted after many many years.
We grew up together in the Glenwood Projects, and both went to PS 251,  grammar school in Brooklyn. 
After all the years apart, it was very easy for us to become good friends again.
We would meet Saturday's and walk around the Manalapan recreation trail, which was the last time I saw him. 
I enjoyed talking politics with him, and learned things from him that I agreed with,  and some I didn't. 
It was fun debating him, as he was quite a challenge for me. 
I want to add that my wife Ronnie was crazy about him too.
You are missed Steven and will think about you often.

I knew Steven my entire life. We grew up together in the Glenwood Projects. We were one giant family. I was lucky enough to finally get together with him last year after not seeing each other for probably over 40 years.  It was as if no time had past at all.  He always had a kind word for the people in his life.  My condolences to his family. You were very blessed to have had him in your lives. He will be terribly missed. Rest in peace my dearest friend 💔

My childhood memories of monthly Sunday brunch at Aunt Netta and Uncle Sid’s place are some of the happiest of my lifetime. Gathering with my cousin Steven, his wife Phyllis, Matthew, and Michele (and sometimes Barbara and David), along with my brother and my mom, made those days so special.

I can still taste the delicious spread—Aunt Netta’s amazing tuna fish salad, the New York bagels, the lox, and even the awful smell of the pickled herring (which we all laughed about!). After brunch, heading out to the playground with Erik, Matthew, and Michele brought endless fun and laughter.

Steven was truly an incredible human being—wise, hilarious, and a warrior of sorts. His presence filled the room with light, and those Sundays will forever remain etched in my heart.

After my father passed, Steven and I shared some deep conversations that I will always cherish. He helped me cope during such a difficult time, giving me perspective and helping me understand everything my father had overcome and all that he was dealing with.

Airport pick up in the cab and a tour of the city for my hubs Brian.  Then a pastrami sandwich. Fun time ! 

Steven also held a very special place in my mother’s heart. He was her favorite cousin—sorry if that offends anyone, but it’s the truth. She adored Steven  and Felice and she never stopped talking about him with love and admiration! The Klein family was our salvation growing up !

To Steven's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Loved my interaction with Stevie all through the years. He was very good to my brother and I will always appreciate him for that I will miss his sense of humor. Rest in peace my friend

My heart is broken to have just read about Steven’s passing. He was my childhood friend, a wonderful, loving person . We all grew up together  in the projects and our lives were entwined in apartment 925. We played outside forever in the coldest winters building snow forts and igloos. We watched movies together in our pjs eating italian ices that dripped on our fingers. We played skelly and knucks and whispered secrets while all our beautiful mothers and fathers watched from the bench. And I remember how happy you were introducing us to phyllis, your love. Over these past years, you and I exchanged messages on Facebook. Yours were always loving and kind, remembering our mothers and fathers. Rest in peace with your family now. I will miss you so much my friend.
