

Ann T. Egan, 91, of Manchester died March 13, 2011 at Mount Carmel Home following a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Manchester, she was born here on June 1, 1919 the daughter of the late James and Bridget (Mullen) Hayes.
She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of the Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She began her career in nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital cardiology department. She had been employed for more than 25 years by Dr. Gardiner Manning and later in Dr. Stoev’s office and prior to her retirement at the age of 83 at the Ear, Nose & Throat Physicians and Surgeons P.A.
A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral parish all of her life. She was a member of the St. Anne’s Ladies Guild of the parish and a member of the NH Catholic Nurses Association.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emmet W. Egan in 1978.
She is survived by a son, Philip J. Egan and his wife Eileen of Manchester; three grandchildren, Philip J Egan Jr. and his wife Lisa of Newburyport, MA, Mary Beth Labrecque and her husband Scott of Bow, NH and Amanda Egan of Cancun, Mexico; great grandchildren Cora and Alanna Egan of Newburyport MA and Kate and Melanie Labrecque of Bow; a brother Richard Hayes of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Mary McCoy and three brothers John, Frank and James Hayes.
A calling hour was held Monday, March 21st from 9 AM to 10:15 AM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
