

Arthur Antonio Abelli passed on March 6, 2017. He was born in Berlin, NH on September 30, 1927, the son of Catherine Dupere Abelli and Antonio Abelli. He graduated from Berlin High School class of 1946. After receiving an Athletic Scholarship from the University of New Hampshire, he completed two years of college. He was a U.S. Veteran that served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He also played football as a running back for the US Army team playing against many European teams while stationed in Germany.
He was a grocer and meat cutter by trade. He worked in the family business and then managed and owned Abelli Tri Corner market located in Berlin, NH. And was a meat cutter for Grand Union, Vista foods and A1 Market.
He married Rita Marguerite Lemieux and they enjoyed sixty years of marriage before her death in 2013, they had three children and are survived by his daughter and son Thomas, son in law Carroll, his grandson Nicholas and his wife Alyssa and great granddaughters Alaina, Joselyn, Gabriella, Keirsten, Adrianna and Kambria.
He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine Dupere Abelli, father, Antonio Abelli, wife, Rita Abelli, son, Alan Abelli, brother Armand Abelli and step grandchildren Katrina Allin and Joshua Allin
He was a parishioner of St. Kierans Church, St. Anne Church in Berlin, NH and St. Mary’s of Manchester, NH.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 10 2017 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Catherines church on Saturday March 11 at 10:30 amArrangements under the direction of McHugh Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Manchester, NH.
