

Cecile (Gelinas) Spenard Pinard, 86, of Manchester, passed on into eternal rest on March 13, 2014 in Manchester. She was born on August 1, 1927 in Manchester, the daughter of Romeo & Parmela Gelinas and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. She was educated in the Manchester School System.
Cecile was a home maker and later was employed by Grand Union Champagne.
She loved being around her family and friends, and dedicated a lot of her time volunteering at the Veteran’s Hospital in the Recreational Therapy Department.
With a love of the outdoors, Sunday afternoon drives would end up with a picnic or a special treat, & summer vacations were spent camping, hiking & exploring areas of New Hampshire & Bar Harbor Maine with her 4 children and husband Conrad. In her later years, she loved traveling to South Carolina to visit of her two grandsons & great granddaughter.
Members of her family include her children Louise Supple and her husband Leo of Rumney, Elaine Lavoie and her husband Robert, of Hooksett. Dennis Spenard, and wife Kammy, Thomas Spenard and wife Claire, both of Manchester. Grandchildren, Randy Fortier, his wife April of Charleston SC, Jeremy Fortier of Florence SC., Allison Johnson and her husband Matthew of Harshaw, WI, Matthew Lavoie and his wife Candice of Hooksett , Benjamin Lavoie of Hooksett and Ellysa Spenard of Manchester. Two great grand-daughters Caitlin Fortier of Charleston SC and Isabella Lavoie of Hooksett NH.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Conrad Spenard in 1987 and her second husband of 7 years Paul Pinard in 1997, her brother Lionel Gelinas and sisters Rachel Major and Therese Ostrouch.
Cecile’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Teresa’s Manor and Mt. Carmel Nursing Home for the loving care given their mom.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Marie Church, Notre Dame Avenue in Manchester NH. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Catherine of Siena/All Saint’s Parish/Building Fund, 285 Main Street, Charlestown, NH 03603.
