

He came to Manchester in 1958 and was employed as a hairdresser at Leavitt’s Beauty Salon until establishing his own shop. He operated Nazem’s Beauty Salon on Elm St. for more than 40 years.
Mr. Wehbe was a very active member of Our Lady of the Cedars Church and served as a member and president of the Parish Council. He also served as the Parish Representative to the Diocesan Council. He was a translator for Lebanese community for the Court system and the medical community. Active in scholarship programs for the Lebanese community, he was also involved with the ALSAC working for the benefit of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In addition he served as a member of the NH Board of Cosmetology.
He will be remembered as a “peacemaker” who had a special place in his heart for all children. His wife of 31 years, Salma (Nahara) Wehbe pre-deceased him in January 1992.
Family members include two brothers, Assaad Wehbe of Lebanon and George Wehbe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Yasmin Geitani and Bahia Nujaim, both of Lebanon; as well as many godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours were held on Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM in Our Lady of the Cedars Church, corner of Calef Rd. and Mitchell St. A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 AM in the Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford. In lieu of flowers donations in Nazem’s name may be made to Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 140 Mitchell St. Manchester NH 03103.
