

Rosemarie M. Butler, 77, of Manchester died November 27, 2012 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born on October 18, 1935 in Cambridge, MA, the daughter of Antonio and Mariana (Pacheco) d’Amaral. She grew up in Somerville and was educated in the local school system and was a 1954 graduate of Somerville High School.
“Rose” was employed as the bakery manager at Star Market and also as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart and at Ben Franklin Crafts Store in Hooksett. She loved doing arts and crafts and was an accomplished quilter. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Members of her family include her husband of 38 years Edward J. Butler of Manchester, her four sons Charles Cullinane and his wife Laura of Charlton, MA, Michael Cullinane and his wife Louise of Manchester, Kevin Cullinane and his wife Christine of Pembroke and Alan Cullinane and his partner Patrick Drumney of Provincetown, MA, her daughter Cindy Sarcione and her husband Rick of Hilton Head, SC, her stepchildren Virginia Blais of Brentwood, Carole Brinkman of Hampton Falls, Tracey Black of Exeter and David Butler of Moultonborough, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her four brothers Voltaire d’Amaral of Malden, MA, Fernando d’Amaral and Eddie d’Amaral both of Somerville, MA, and Anthony d’Amaral of Brockton, MA and her sister Barbara Cusack of Melrose, MA as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday December 2nd from 2 to 6PM at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Monday December 3rd at 10AM in the funeral home. Burial followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rose’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association One Bedford Farms Suite 105 Bedford, NH 03110.
