

Stephen C. Babin, 64, of Auburn, died September 11, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Manchester on March 22, 1951 the son of Reg and Julia (Sullivan) Babin and has two siblings Michael Babin of Chester and Nancy Babin-Riley of Rye. He grew up in the Queen City, was educated in the local school system and attended Manchester West High School.
Steve owned and operated Babin’s Welding in Manchester and Auburn for 42 years. He was involved in motorcycling and boating his whole life. Steve had battled heart problems for several years. He loved to lobster and would give his whole catch away to all of his friends and relatives.
“I want my friends to have a good old Irish wake and to celebrate with a good toast as I had a good time in my life and I hope my passing shall only produce friends.”
Visitation was held on Tuesday September 15 from 5 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Memorial Service was celebrated at 6 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Steve’s name be made to one’s favorite charity. (The obituary was composed by Stephen himself.)
