

Dr. Thomas J. “Tom” Dabrowski, 75, of Manchester, died April 6, 2015 at the Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Manchester on February 23, 1940 the son of Joseph and Stephania (Swist) Dabrowski. He grew up in Derry, was educated in the local school system and attended Pinkerton Academy.
He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and following his discharge he enrolled in the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport , IA. While attending school, he met and married the love of his life Ruth Ann Peterson. Upon graduation, they returned to New Hampshire where he opened his practice in Littleton serving the local residents for 11 years. While there he pursued his hobby of designing and building self -propelled parade floats of artistic creation. Together they relocated to Pinardville where they owned and operated the Maid-Rite Restaurant. His wife, Ruth Ann, managed the operation of the restaurant so that Tom could establish on his chiropractic practice. While concentrating on his work, Tom continued to pursue his love of carving carousel horses, restoring antique cars and musical boxes, painting and building mechanical automotons. He was fondly known as the Magic Maker on an episode of PBS Chronicle.
Members of his family include his wife of 49 years Ruth Ann Dabrowski of Manchester, his three brothers, Joseph Dabrowski Jr. of Epsom, Robert Dabrowski and his wife Marlene of Marlborough and Walter Dabrowski and his wife Claire of Hudson as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday April 10 from noon to 2:30 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Tom’s name be made to the Pinkerton Academy High School Band 5 Pinkerton St. Derry, NH 03038 or to the Animal Rescue League of NH 545 Route 101 Bedford, NH 03110.
