Alfred was called to his forever home on April 16, 2021. He was born on November 5, 1932 in New York to his loving parents Alfonso and Edith Hodges. He moved to Asbury Park, NJ and then resided last in Ocean County, NJ
Alfred, who most people called “Diddy Boy” or “Big Al” was a loving husband, father, and friend. He served in the army from 1950 to 1953 before being honorable discharged. Alfred was a truck driver for 50 plus years. His last job was at Ocean Utility Contracting before finally retiring.

Favorite color was blue.
Favorite sports teams were the NY Giants, Mets, and Knicks.
Enjoyed bowling in the Saturday Night Mix at Shore Lanes.
Also enjoyed watching Old Time Westerns.
But most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Alfred was predeceased by his third wife Carletta Hodges and second wife Joan Hodges, parents Alfonso Hodges and Edith Warrington, brother Buster Everett, his son Alfred Hodges Jr., his daughter Karen Hodges, and his granddaughter Kannarda Hodges; He is survived by his children, Anthony Carey (Andrea), Darlene Dupont, Annette F. Hodges, Craig Hodges (Dana), Alesia Gunter (Mark G), Angela Dillard (Dwayne). As well as a sister-in-law Sonja, a niece, 24 grandkids, 32 great-grandkids, and 11 great great-grandkids.
