Chester "Chet", F. Smykowski, 75, of Manchester,NJ passed away Tuesday March 19, 2019 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY raised in Brentwood NY, Chester and his family lived in Bricktown from 1971 till 2000 when he and his wife relocated to their current home in Manchester.
Chester was a United States Airforce Veteran proudly serving his country from 1961-1965. After his Military Service Chester went on to work in the Finance industry finally serving as ther Vice President of Commercial Loans First National Bank of New Jersey. After retiring from the Finance industry in 1994, Chester took a short break then went back to work as an Auditor for Resorts Casino in Atlantic City for 10 years, finally retiring in 2008.
Chester enjoyed all sports especially Golf. He also enjoyed rooting for the NY teams he grew up with espcially the New York Yankees. When not rooting for the home teams he enjoyed spending time with his family. Chester was a communicant of the St. John’s RC church, Lakehurst, NJ.
Predeceased by his parents John Anthony and Lottie Smykowski he is survivied by his loving wife of 53 years Phyliss (Lawless), two sons, William John Smykowski and his wife Karyn, James Brien Smykowski and his fiancée Sheri Handlin and one grandchild William Henry Smykowski. Chester is also survived by his brother John Paul Smykowski and his wife Doree and their children, John Oscar Smykowski and his wife Anne Marie and Sandra Marie Smykowski.
