Philomena “Florence” DiSavino Guida, 93, of Spring Lake, NJ passed away peacefully Monday, November 12, 2018 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation at Ocean Grove. Born in Dunmore, PA Florence had lived in Elizabeth and Manchester, NJ before moving to Spring Lake two years ago. Florence worked for the Airforce during WWII and later as a Bookkeeper for the Hudson Blouse Factory as well as Phelps Dodge Union Local in Elizabeth before her career as a Banker began for over 20 years retiring from Harmonia Savings in Kenilworth, NJ. Florence was a member of the St. Anthony’s RC Church, Elizabeth.
Daughter of the late Rocco and Archangela DiSavino, Florence was also predeceased by her loving husband John in 2004, her brother Anthony DiSavino her two sisters, Mary Matone, Nettie DeVito and her great grandson Matthew. Surviving are her two daughters, Susan Jackson, Spring Lake Heights, NJ and Sandra Guida, St. Petersburg, Florida. Florence is also survived by her four grandchildren, Lauren Wright, Angela DeMarco, Jillian DeMarco, Louis DeMarco and four great grandchildren GiAnna, Natalie, Luca and John.
Friends and family may gather Sunday November 18, 2018 from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ 08759. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Monday November 19, 2018 at St. John’s RC Church, Lakehurst, NJ. Interment will follow to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations in Florence’s name can be made to the Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Rd, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
