Abbas Kalimuddin Shikary

Dr. Abbas Kalimuddin Shikary, 71, of Ashland, Ohio passed away on May 1, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic with his family by his side. He was born on July 23, 1946 to Kalimuddin and Zaitoon Shikary in Mumbai, India.

After graduating from King Edward Medical College in Mumbai, Dr. and Mrs. Shikary immigrated to America in 1974. He first completed a pathology residency at Metro General Hospital in Cleveland prior to completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Dr. Shikary initially worked in Des Moines, Iowa and he then established a busy practice in Ashland, Ohio. Over the course of his 40 year career, he delivered more than 10,000 babies and helped countless women and young families. He was a devoted husband and father, selfless uncle, brother, and friend; a consummate business man, world traveler, avid photographer, budding chef, and he loved to host parties and entertain.

He is survived by his wife, Fatema, who he loved dearly; his children, who were his greatest joy: Shabbir, Maria, and Tasneem; and his three grandchildren, Meru, Naveed, and Odin.

Family, friends and colleagues are asked to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the UH Samaritan Administrative Services (Samaritan on Main), 663 East Main Street, Ashland.
