
Adaline P. Ridenour, 90, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 after a hard seven year battle with Scleroderma and pulmonary hypertension. She was born December 4, 1925 in Au Gres, Michigan to Jacob and Emily (Taut) Dewald.
Adaline grew up in Au Gres, Michigan with her nine siblings, working on the family farm. She joined many of her siblings in moving to Mansfield to work at Westinghouse during World War II. There she met and married Leonard Ridenour. After starting their family, and the children beginning school, Adaline started working at Blake's Pastries where she learned and fell in love with cake decorating. She took these skills along with her when she later worked at Geyer's and Hawkins.
Adeline was a very active member of First Alliance Church for many years, until she became ill and moved to the Waterford where she met many dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Antonchak and nurse Kathy; Dr. Kaka and nurse Sue; and the staff of Good Samaritan Home Health Care for their care and compassion shown to Adaline.
Adaline is survived by her children, Karen Ridenour David and Steve (Joy) Ridenour; grandchildren, Danielle and Michelle David, Matthew (Megan) Ridenour, and Caitlyn Ridenour; sister, Bernice Metcalf; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ridenour; eight siblings, Clarence and Jacob Dewald, Katherine Nitscke, Rose Koysh, Esther Woodward, Hilda Sass, Freidaline Ott, and Irma Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy Hupp officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
