Adam Michael Christie passed away unexpectedly in Los Angeles, California, on November 6th, 2024. Adam was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend. He never knew a stranger. His infectious laugh and kind demeanor brought joy to everyone around him. We are absolutely shattered that he is gone so soon.
Throughout his life, his love of music was the foundation of his personality. Adam was an extremely talented drummer, a skill he inherited from his father, and had the rock-star mentality to match. He had an incredibly eclectic and faceted musical taste for someone so young. He could hear things and understand music in a way that most people could only dream of. His ability to decipher lyrics and find deeper meaning was a special talent. Whether it was playing the snare at St. Peter’s basketball games or pounding on a lunch table with his hands, he was always drumming. It was a joy to see him do something that brought him so much happiness.
Adam was incredible in the kitchen, a skill he inherited from his mother, and that love of cooking transformed into a love of service. Working at FK Your Diet in Fort Myers, Florida, brought him an immense sense of purpose, serving foster kids and anyone in need of good food and love. He spent multiple Thanksgivings passing out food to those in need, and if he were to ever brag, he bragged about how many meals they were able to pass out before they ran out of food. He had a massive heart.
He was incredibly smart. He truly had all the potential in the world to do whatever he wanted to do. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends.
A devoted uncle, his nephew and niece were the light of his life. The impact he made on them will last a lifetime.
Adam struggled with addiction, and although that’s not how he will be remembered, it is extremely important to address. The Christie/Maness family implores anyone struggling with addiction to seek immediate help. The Mansfield community, along with the rest of the country, cannot continue to cope with so many senseless deaths. Adam was far too young and far too bright for his life to end this way.
Adam is preceded in death by his mother, Leanna; his grandmothers, Eileen and Julie; and his uncle, Kevin.
Adam is survived by Michael (Sherry) Christie, Sarah (Harvey, Dominic, Stella) Maness, and a multitude of loving family and friends.
Friends and family may gather for a Celebration of Life Monday, November 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Life Celebration Reception Center at 129 S Main St, Mansfield, OH 44902.
