

Alex Colangelo, 83, of Mansfield died Wednesday morning, June 26, 2002 at Mifflin Care Center after an extended illness. Mr. Colangelo was born March 15, 1919 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area all of his life. He retired from Flxible as a foreman in 1981. Mr. Colangelo enjoyed playing cards and attending horse races. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene & John Shafer of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Donita Colangelo of Ashland and Larry & Sue Colangelo of Mansfield; five grandchildren and their spouses, Todd & Susie Shafer of Ashland, Kary & Jim Steele of Dayton, Alexis Colangelo of Bloomington, Indiana, and Hallie and Libby Colangelo, both of Mansfield; three great-grandchildren, Abby Shafer, Jack Steel and Cade Steele; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ann & Leonard Kreinbihl of Columbus, and Adeline Krompholc, Josephine German and Clo Colangelo, all of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cosmo & Elizabeth Musille Colangelo; a brother, Mike Colangelo; and a sister, Anna Colangelo.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Military services will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Kidney Center.
