Andrew Bauer

Andrew Bauer, 94, of Mansfield, died early Tuesday morning, June 22, 2004 at Woodlawn Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was born April 20, 1910 in Mansfield to Peter and Eva Winter Bauer and was a lifelong Mansfield resident. He retired from Fisher Body, General Motors where he worked as a welder. Andrew attended Mansfield Baptist Temple and was a member of the Eagles, American Legion Post #16, Amvets Post #26 and former member of the Owls. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He is survived by two sons, Robert E. Bauer of Mansfield and Paul G. Bauer of Perrysville; two grandchildren, Todd Bauer of Perrysville and Wendy Tong of Wilmington; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Tong and Andrea Tong. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vivian Meade Bauer in 1990, brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, June 24 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Dale Adkins. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Baptist Temple.
