Annette was born and raised in Johnsville, Ohio, the oldest of three children. She grew up living the simple country life, surrounded by the values of family, hard work, and compassion that would guide her throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of Northmor High School.
Over the years, Annette dedicated herself to caring for others, working at Richland Hospital in Mansfield before continuing her career at Hi-Stat in Lexington. Her work was always about more than just a job—it was about the people she met and the relationships she nurtured.
A lifelong lover of books, Annette could often be found lost in a story, most recently she was reading a book authored by her son Nate. Her imagination was as vivid as her heart was full. She cherished her time shopping and spending days with her sister, Susie, and was happiest when surrounded by family, friends, or simply in conversation—something she truly loved. Her kind and approachable spirit made her easy to talk to, and her warmth touched everyone she met.
She had a great sense of fun, especially when it came to Halloween. Annette looked forward to dressing up every year and bringing smiles to those around her. Above all, she adored her puppy, Happy, who was her constant companion and source of joy.
Annette is survived by her loving dog, Happy; her sister, Susie Perry; sons, Mathew D. Burrage and Nathaniel (Sharon) Burrage; grandchildren, Kayla (Drew) Donelson, Andrew (Baylee) Whitcomb, Aubray (Roya) Taylor, Sierra (Jacob) Carpenter, Derrien Burrage, Laney Burrage, Kaden Hernandez, Marissa Hernandez, and Tori Hernandez; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, John Fitzgerald Whitcomb and Robert Randall Whitcomb; and her brother, Randall Allen McEndree.
In accordance with Annette’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the Mifflin Fire Department. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Whitcomb family.
