Barbara Scott

Barbara S. Scott, 61, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Barbara was born in Shelby, Ohio to Mary and Gerald Scott. She graduated from Lexington High School and attended the Ohio State University Mansfield Campus. She worked in the laboratory at MedCentral Hospital for 35 years.

Barbara loved animals, gardening, music, and singing. She toured Europe singing with the choir of the Mansfield Campus of the Ohio State University. Over the years she gave a loving home to many cats, including many strays, two of which survive her - Molly and Bubby. She particularly loved Aggie and Maggie.

Barbara is survived by her life-long partner, Jacqueline Sanford; brother, Glen Scott; nephew, Kevin Scott and his wife, Kate; two young nieces, Bridget and Erin; and Kristi Sanford. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Scott and her mother, Mary Scott Sweet.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Rev. Dr. Faith Proietti. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
