Bernice Murphy

Bernice Murphy 71, of 410 Bowman Street died March 16, 2000 at home following a brief illness.  Mrs. Murphy was born December 26, 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina to Rev. Herman and Thelma Stillwell.  She was an active member of the Springmill Church of God where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award.  She served as a greeter at the church, and was an active member of the lady's ministry board, Prayer Warriors Organization and Alter Guild Group. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Doris Stillwell; four sons, the Rev. Paul A. 'BoAnthony' Stillwell of Atlanta, Georgia; Milton W. Stillwell of Tacoma, Washington; Thomas Murphy 'Lille Murph'; and Michael Murphy 'Michael B' both of Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Eddie Massey of Mansfield; and Luzetta 'KayKay' and Cliff Sims of Denver, Colorado; three adopted grandchildren, Rashed 'Tubby' Curry of Denver, Colorado; Scottea Brooks of Mansfield; and Joshua Brooks of Columbus, Ohio; one niece/daughter, Diane 'Dece' Kiah of Columbus, Ohio; two spiritually adopted children, David Williams and Edie Watkins of Mansfield; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and community children.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Murphy7; her father and mother, Rev. Hermon and Thelma Stillwell; one sister, Eloise Stillwell; five children, James Bowen Ricky Stillwell; Richard Allen Stillwell; Charles Hermon Boogie Stillwell; Robert Eric Murphy E-Love and Marilyn Marie Marbelle Murphy Brooks. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Springmill Church of God conducted by Dr. Bruce Philippi.  Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park .
