Beverly A. Martin, more commonly known as "B", 84, of Ashland, passed away in her sleep unexpectedly, Friday, June 26, 2015. She was born January 13, 1931, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Clayton and Ruth (McCormick) Mundorf.
Immediately after graduating, Beverly started to work for National Latex. After a short break, she returned to National Latex and worked until last year-a testament to her work ethic. She was the secretary of her high school class and enjoyed staying in touch with her many friends through planning the school reunions. B was a tremendous mom, friend, and co-worker to many.
A real people person, Beverly was always eager to visit with people and attend any social gatherings. She was very independent and enjoyed investing her time in others. She volunteered in the nursery, attended the Berean Sunday school class and served as a greeter at Park Street Brethren Church, where she was a long time member. She also attended the Thursday night Study Club. Known affectionately as "Grandma B", she was a "mom" to many in the community. Her carefree and joyful attitude were contagious and she loved with her whole heart. She set a wonderful example of unconditional love to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beverly is survived by her three sons, Mark (Debbi) Martin of Dublin, OH, Eric Martin of Seattle, WA and Brett (Barbie) Martin of Ashland, OH; five grandchildren, Marissa (Jeff) Backes, Zach Martin, Aleesa, Elizabeth and Anthony Martin; three great-grandchildren, Leighton, Brooklyn and Hunter Backes; a brother, Ken (Kay) Mundorf of Elyria, OH; a sister, Connie (Terry) Lash of Ashland, OH: a brother-in-law, Merle Queer of Ashland, OH; and nieces and nephews, Barb Queer, Shane Queer, Scott Lash, Tim Lash and Chris Mundorf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Queer.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Park Street Brethren Church, 619 Park St., Ashland, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association or Park Street Brethren Church. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
