
Beverly K. Holmes Wolfe, 69, of Mansfield, died at home Friday, December 24, 2010 surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer. Born August 21, 1941 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Harry and Esther Holmes. Bev was a member of the Olivesburg Methodist Church. She graduated from Lucas Schools in 1959 and retired from the Richland County Humans Services in 1987. Bev loved the sun and water, especially boating on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky in the summer and enjoying the sunny winter months in Flordia. She enjoyed traveling; any place the car would take her. One of her favorite annual events was helping her husband Dave at the Eastern Gas Compressor Roundtable at Robert Morris College in Pennsylvania working at the exhibits giveaway booth where she really enjoyed visiting and joking with the gas company people. Bev also enjoyed flowers and had many at her home and really enjoyed decorating her parents and relatives gravesites. She was an avid country music fan, attending many concerts, including Roy Clark's concert just last week. Bev never met a stranger and enjoyed shopping and loved to be around little children.
Bev is survived by her husband, David Wolfe of Mansfield; brother, George Holmes of Ashland; sister, Linda Joe Harvey of Mansfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Bonnie Wolfe of Olivesburg and Jack and Mary Mawhorr of Concord; numerous nieces and nephews known to them as "Aunt Toots"; several great nieces and nephews; one great great nephew; and special friends from Lucas, Sherry and the late Mike Fanello and Ed and Carol Hardin. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Esther Holmes; brother, William "Bud" Holmes; father-in-law, Russell Wolfe; and mother-in-law, Eunice Wolfe.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Adam Davis. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or the Olivesburg Methodist Church, 4748 State Route 545, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
