Billy Wayne Buckler

Billy Wayne Buckler, 54, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. While Billy's family is saddened his body could not overcome injuries sustained in an auto accident, they are comforted knowing Billy's soul is with Jesus his Savior. He was born February 22, 1963 the son of Billy J. and Doris Jean (Davis) Buckler.

Billy Wayne will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather, nephew and cousin. As a young man, he could often be found raising good hearted trouble with his cousin and best friend, Joel Stamper, who was truly a brother at heart.

Billy Wayne was there for his family, first and always, actively involved with them, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending his free time gardening and fishing, tending to his salt water fish tank and watching baseball. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Indians and his grandsons little league teams.

Billy Wayne found great joy in helping others, even in his professional life. Following his service as a Richland County Sheriffs Deputy, he went on to serve as an agent with All State Insurance and then as a Broker with US Bank.

Left to cherish Billy Wayne's memory are his wife of 15 years, Jayne (Holloway) Buckler; his father, Billy J. Buckler; daughter, Tiffany Buckler (Bill Pelton) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; step children, Brionna Townsend of Lexington, Jarrod (Layne) Townsend of Shelby and Jake (Ambur) Townsend of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Chase, Charlotte, Ayden, Brennan, Myles, Collin, Carmen and Jordyn; life-long friend Jerry Botdorf; and his four legged companions, Lincoln, Reagen and Paisley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Jean Buckler; cousin, Joel Stamper; and his parents-in-law, Virgil R. and Barbara J. Holloway.

Friends may call from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
