

Bobbie L. High, 85, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born April 23, 1931, in East Stone Gap, Virginia, to the late James Henry Little III and Alma M. (Statzer) Little.
Bobbie was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School in the well-known town Oak Ridge, Tennessee, made famous for it's development of the Manhattan Project. She received her B.A. in Education from The Ohio State University and continued her education throughout her lifetime. Bobbie retired from Mansfield City Schools where she began teaching in 1972. She was a member of the Ohio Education Association, Past Secretary for Mansfield School Employees Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, University Women's Association and Junior League of Mansfield. She was a long time member of First Congregational Church.
Bobbie was outgoing and was a very loyal friend who loved socializing. A wonderful grandmother, she was both supportive and generous. In her free time, Bobbie enjoyed playing Bridge and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Michael High of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Margaret High-Thomas of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Steven High; a sister, Daphne Anne Ganskow of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Emily (Michael) Detwiler and Haley Thomas, both of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. High; brother, James Little, and brother-in-law, Robert Ganskow.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions honoring Bobbie's memory may be made to the Outreach Programs at First Congregational Church.
