
Bobby J. Petitt, 44, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at his home. He passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer. Born July 1, 1962, in Mansfield, he was the son of Billy J. and Mary E. McCabe Petitt. He was a 1981 graduate of Mansfield Senior High and was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan. He had worked at Whitey's Auto Mall for 21 years as a Senior Master Service Technician for Ford Motor Co. Bobby enjoyed fishing and was quite an accomplished musician. His favorite hobby was woodworking and designing beautiful oak furniture for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Greta Green Petitt, whom he married November 6, 2004; loving stepdaughter, Erica Bowman of Mansfield; father, Billy J. Petitt of Mansfield; brother, Mark Andrea Clifton Petitt of Asheville, NC; sister, Diana Tom Vance of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; and two special children in his life, Jacqueline Mills and Alex Ferguson, both of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his mother and close uncle, Clifford McCabe.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 25 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
