
Brian Evans, 37, of Mansfield, died December 26, 2007 at Mansfield MedCentral Hospital. Born December 15, 1970, he was the son of Larry 'Bo' and Wilma K. Mabry Evans. Brian was one who was loved by all who knew him. Brian proudly served as a police officer with the Mansfield Police Department for over fourteen years, S.W.A.T, and METRICH S.W.A.T. He enjoyed motorcycles and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Brian devoted his life to protecting and serving, especially to those who were closest to him. As a police officer, he truly took pride in his role to protect those in need and to serve his community. As for his family, he truly took pride in being a loving husband, adoring father, and faithful friend. He was truly a genuine person who did whatever he could to help anyone in need. You could not be around him without smiling, laughing, and even sometimes dancing. Brian will truly be missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on through his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Trina Shears Evans; daughter, Tess Evans; father, Larry 'Bo' Evans of Mansfield; brother, Larry Carolyn Evans of Mansfield; sister, Kimberly Evans of Mansfield; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Garnet Shears of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Larry Quincy Shears of Shelby; nephew, Dalton Shears; nieces, Heather Shears, Crystal Shannon Skaggs, Kali and Kelsey Evans; grandmothers-in-law, Zelma Shears and Mangeline Fields; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family; the entire police department and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma K. Mabry Evans; and grandparents, Nelson and Catherine Evans, Edison and Myrtle Mabry.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at the First Assembly of God, 1000 McPherson St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mansfield Senior High School gymnasium. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
