Bruce Allen Kennedy II

Bruce Allen Kennedy II, 40, of Mansfield, passed away at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, Thursday, October 20, 2016, after a brief illness stemming from complications of surgery. He was born November 25, 1975, in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Bruce was a lifelong Mansfield resident and attended Mansfield Senior High School. He worked construction and did numerous other things. An excellent and proud father, he loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Bruce holds a special place in many people's heart and will never be forgotten. Loving, caring and attentive, he enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Krista Hamm, and Tylor Vasquez; special granddaughter, Ava Cornell; his father, Bruce Kennedy; siblings, John Kennedy, April Martin, Chastity Kennedy and Kimberly Kennedy; significant other, Anitra Carpenter and her children and grandchildren, Alexis (Michael) Cornell, Wade Thompson, Destiny Paxton, Kya Paxton, Alia Cornell and Adylann Thompson; aunt and uncle, Sherry and Greg Pratt; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patty Gerhart Kennedy; maternal grandparents, Charles Gerhart and Ellen Gerhart; paternal grandparents, Therman and Mary Ellen Kennedy; nephew, Carsen Kennedy; niece, Mycha Martin; and uncle, Charlie Whittemire.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Pastor Mark Barth will officiate.
