Burt was known for being a compassionate and caring person, always willing to help those in need. He attributed his happy demeanor and love of people to his relationship with Jehovah God. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 5, 1972. He enjoyed sharing his Bible-based beliefs with others, and visiting friends to encourage them with his warm smile, and kind words.
Burt is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (McKinney), whom he married on March 16, 1974; five children, Marcus Edwards, Shawn Edwards, Dennis (Kasey) Edwards, Stacie (Jonnie) Rush, and Erika (Michael) Rhodebeck; many grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as two sisters, Shirley (John) Davis and Joy Edwards; one brother, Stanley Edwards; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Burt was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Charlene Williams.
The Wappner Cremation Center, 1327 Ashland Rd, Mansfield, is assisting the family with final arrangements.
