Carolee Hunter Baer went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1932, to parents Lester and Marcella (Hoffman) Hunter. A life-long resident of Mansfield, she graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1950. During this time, she enjoyed working at her grandfather’s grocery, Hunter’s Grocery, and participating in the drama club and as a majorette. At the age of 19, she married the late Carl Eugene Baer, and they dedicated many loving years to their beautiful farm on Pleasant Valley Road. They also operated an antique business for a number of years in the area.
She was born again in December 1950 by placing her faith in Jesus Christ, and her family finds comfort in that she is now in His presence, for death is swallowed up in victory. She was a member of the Church in Mansfield, where she and her husband served the Lord and its members.
Preceded in death were her parents and her brother, Don Hunter, of California.
Surviving are her four children of the Mansfield area: Todd (Dee) Baer, Scott (Vicki) Baer, Brian (Angie) Baer, and Laurel (Arnold) Stanley, six grandchildren, Melissa Lawhorn, Matt (Whitney) Baer, Megan Baer, Jason Baer, Lindsey Jones, and Logan (Jordain) Jones; seven great-grandchildren; cousins Mel (Kaye) Coleman and Phyllis Schwab.
She is remembered through fond memories of her singing, instrument playing, flagging the school bus down with a dish towel, her sharp whistle, love of Boston Terriers, bird watching, berry picking, baking, mowing on her John Deere tractor, gardening and reading.
A graveside family gathering will be held at a future date.
Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Wappner is honored to serve the Baer family.
