

Charles "Chuck" C. Yosick, Sr., 81, of Mansfield, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 2, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born July 7, 1935, in Shelby, Ohio, he was the son of the late Stephen Francis Yosick and Caroline Estelle (Aul) Yosick.
Chuck grew up in Shelby and New Washington and attended Buckeye Central High School. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army for one year, living in Hawaii. After his discharge, he worked with his brother in the construction business. Chuck retired in 1988 as an inventory checker after working at General Motors for 30.4 years. Being outdoors was a favorite activity and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Chuck was an avid sports fan of all the Ohio teams.
Coming from a family of 13 siblings, he learned early the importance of family and his most treasured time was creating memories that will last a lifetime. Kind, caring, helpful and generous, Chuck was everyone's friend. His joke telling ability brought a smile to many people's faces.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Janiece Rettig Yosick; two children, Chuck Yosick, Jr. and Leilani Yosick; three grandchildren, Robert (Missy) Yosick, Craig Yosick and Trevor (Randal) Yosick; and four great-grandchildren, Katie Yosick, Pacer and Natalie Yosick, and Justin. He is also survived by three brothers, Carl Yosick, Steve (Marlene) Yosick and Joe Yosick; a sister, Marge Fagin; several nieces and nephews; and his fishing buddy, Paul Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Jim and John Yosick; twin sister, Collette Blackford; and four sisters, Rosie Stump, Dorothy Molder, Teresa Sollinger and Pauline Amspoker.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Father Nelson Beaver officiating. Additional visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
