

Claudia May Rogers , 68, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 3, 1951 to the late Harold and Elva (Peek) Jones.
Claudia had many interests which include decorating, crocheting and gardening, especially tomatoes and daisies. She was passionate about baking and would cook for the military base in Dayton, Ohio. She was an amazing cook and made the best homemade stuffing and banana pudding. Her favorite dessert was pumpkin rolls. Claudia had farmland in Kentucky where she had lived in the past and became a lover of ducks. Her favorite time of the year was around the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She always enjoyed time spent with family, cherishing every moment. Being a woman of many talents, Claudia would also entertain and sing at Tom's Tavern. She loved the singers Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. Claudia had worked in the restaurant business for many years. She had a special bond with her husband, Jim, in whom she had loved very much.
Claudia is survived by her four daughters, Melissa (Henry) Skaggs, Elizabeth (Rob) Hopkins, JoDe Jones and Tammy (Lawrence) Fender; two granddaughters, Desiree Skaggs and Jessica Hopkins; four grandsons, Jamie Hopkins, Matthew Riggsbee, Nigele Jones and Dauvion Jones; great-granddaughter, Charlee Backensto; and great-grandson, Bentley Riggsbee.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie Spencer; brothers, Gary Jones and Timothy Jones; and sister Elizabeth Coon.
The family will receive friends at 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019, at The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond St. There will be a service to follow starting at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor James Robinson officiating.
