
Clifford G. Stout, Sr., 67, of Mansfield died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, January 19, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Mr. Stout was born October 28, 1935 in Toms Creek, Virginia to Granville Jackson and Alzona Hamilton Stout and was a Mansfield area resident most of his life. Until his retirement, he was employed as a crane operator with General Motors for 33 years. Clifford was a member of V.F. W. Post #9943, American Legion Post #16, Owls Club and Sons of Herman. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Compton Stout; six children and their spouses, Vicki and Chris Galland of Smyrna, Tennessee, Christy and Naamon Young of Mansfield, Kimberly Stout of Mansfield, Clifford Stout, Jr. of Smyrna, Tennessee, Dreama Richards of Charleston, West Virginia, and Randy Stout of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Sandy Stout of Mansfield; three sisters and their spouses, Flo and Jimmy Mollett, Geraldine and Dick Thompson, all of Mansfield and Harriett kinder of Elkhart, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Granville and Alzona Stout, a brother, and his stepmother, Gladys Stout.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday, January 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Glenn Phillips will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
