Connie Wallace

Connie's journey thru life began on March 30, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL and ended October 23, 2010 in Mansfield, Ohio. She is the daughter of Tom and Mary Ruffin. After moving to Mansfield with her family in 1964, she attended a dance at the Y.M.C.A. While there she met James Wallace, who would later become her husband and soul mate. On April 9, 1966 they were married and spent the next 44 years together. Thru the years Connie had many medical problems that she fought and won, but in May of 2009 we were told she had lung cancer. Connie was a fighter but this was one battle she could not win. She fought as hard as she could but on October 23, the battle was lost. Connie left this world at home with her family by her side.

Connie worked at Michaels Arts and Crafts for 12 years in the custom framing department. She enjoyed working there and made many friends among customers and co-workers.

Connie never met a butterfly or a hummingbird that she did not like. She enjoyed horseback riding, the sound of ocean waves, and riding motorcycles with her husband. Above all, she loved her family and her dogs, Duchess and Zoey. She touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.

Connie is survived by her husband, James, and son, Tom at home. Her mother Mary Alice Ruffin Weed, two sisters, Carol John Pemberton, and Claudia Baker, and brother, Chris Sandi Ruffin, all of St. Augustine, FL; brother Tom Melanie Ruffin of Franklin, NC; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Wallace Disbro, Special aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Frances Hershner, and sister-in-law and special friend Sandie Dailey, all of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; good friend, Donna Drake; and her two dogs, Duchess and Zoey who roam the house looking for their 'mom'. Connie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas; her grandparents; father-in-law, Ray Wallace; brother-in-law, Elijah Baker; and good friend Joanne Otterbacher.
