
Dale L. Lewis, 70, of Galion, died unexpectedly, Monday, August 6, 2007 at his home. Born May 11, 1937 in Mansfield, he was the son of Charles Lewis and Virginia Denny Ewald. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1956. Dale retired form General Motors Mansfield Plant after 40 years of service, starting as a tool and die apprentice and retiring as a supervisor. Many people may recently remember him selling produce at 314 and Shelby-Ontario Road for the last 12 years. He enjoyed talking with his numerous customers and friends, and spending time outdoors. He was a loving husband and father, and his true passion was spending time with his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara K King Lewis; mother-in-law, Rella Denny of Mansfield; son, Dale Allen Heather Winkle of Lexington; daughters, Judy Ann John Rankin of Galloway, and Debra Lynn Dan Ickes of Tiffin; brother, Charles A. Kay Lewis, Jr. of Wittman, Arizona; Grandsons, Joshua C. Cahill Jocelyn Schubert of Tiffin, and Brandon and Tyson Lewis of Lexington; extended family, Johnathan Rankin of Columbus, Lindsey and Kassie Winkle of Galion, Janelle Benavides of Tiffin, and Josh Ickes of Tiffin; and his faithful companion/dog, Mickey.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Jerry L. Rhea. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Pancreas Foundation or the American Heart Association.
