
Daniel John Stimens, 57, passed away at Med Central in Mansfield at 8:00 AM on Friday the 7th of August with his family at his side. He lost a battle with colon cancer that afflicted him since January.
He was born in Mansfield on October 5th, 1951 and was a 1969 graduate of Malabar High School. A resident of Mansfield, Daniel handled the maintenance of Stimens Apartments, and when younger in age, enjoyed the hobbies of water skiing and riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. In later years, he liked to fish. He also enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle from the paper and reading.
Daniel is survived by his parents, John L. and Marilyn M. Hammer Stimens; and a younger brother and sister, Kurt J. Stimens and Diane M. Reynard, all of Mansfield. Additionally he is survived by three nieces and four nephews, Melissa Reynard of Bozeman, Montana, Ryan Reynard of Mansfield, Ben Stimens, Brandon Stimens, Alexandra Stimens, Alandrea Stimens, and Andrew Stimens. He also leaves behind his best friend Dave Smith; his former wife and special friend Nena Petroff, her daughter, Whitney Keiser and Whitney's daughter, Emma McDowell; and good friend and caregiver, Mike Miller.
There will not be any funeral services or calling hours, per Daniel's wishes. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Daniel John Stimens.
