

He grew up in Elyria and graduated from Elyria High School. David served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 as a welding instructor. He entered a plumbers and pipe fitters apprenticeship in 1968. He moved to Mansfield in 1993 and was employed as a construction job superintendent with Guenther Mechanical for 25 years, retiring in 2009. David enjoyed being outside, especially in his garden or anywhere he could be surrounded by trees. He was an accomplished cook and baker, and took pride in being the family chef.
David is survived by his wife, Cindy (Brown) Nagy; six children, Jeffery Nagy, Timothy Nagy, Robert Nagy, Michael Nagy, Daniel Nagy, and Michelle Turley; and three brothers, Ronald Nagy of Elyria, Dennis Nagy of Columbus, and Steve Nagy of FL.
The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
