

David Allen Wendling, 24, of Mansfield, died early Saturday morning, February 14, 2004, at Oak Grove Manor after an extended illness. He was born December 31, 1979, in Mansfield to Jan Richard and Frances Rowalt Wendling and was an area resident his entire life. He attended Resurrection Parish and Crossroads Community Church where he was part of the film crew. David enjoyed reading and watching NASCAR racing and professional wrestling.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Frances and Richard Dankovic of Lexington; father and friend, Jan Wendling and Deann Mowry of Mansfield; two brothers, Jeremy and Joshua Wendling of Mansfield; sister, Bridget Wendling of Charlotte, North Carolina; stepsisters, Laura, Carolyn and Andrea Dankovic, all of Mansfield; aunts and uncles, John Wendling and Joe Wendling, of Mansfield, Jim Wendling of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mitzie York of Ontario, Chuck Rowalt of Mansfield, and Sondra Rowalt of Crestline; maternal grandfather, Charles Rowalt of Mansfield; and paternal grandparents, Jean and Harold Baughman of Mt. Gilead. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Norma Rowalt and paternal grandfather, Joseph Wendling.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Tuesday, February 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
