
David T. Yanchunas, 88, of Palm Harbor, Florida, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Brethren Care Village in Ashland, Ohio. Born August 26, 1916, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Thomas William and Pauline Didgeon Yanchunas. He retired from Universal Metal in Wickliffe, Ohio, and was formerly employed in the boating industry. David was a member of East Lake Fire Department and Gordon Shore Boat Club.
He is survived by two sons, David Hildegarde Yanchunas of Ashland, Dennis Pat Yanchunas of Longmont, Col.; a daughter, Kathy Alan Farrenkopf of Spring Hill, Fla.; six grandchildren, Raymond Yanchunas, Dana Yanchunas, Claire Yanchunas, Andy Yanchunas, Jennifer Farrenkopf and Crystal Farrenkopf; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Josephine Martin of New York City, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 64 years, Betty M. Yanchunas on December 12, 2004.
There will be no services or calling hours. Inurnment will take place in Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens, Palm Harbor, Florida, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Ashland home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family.
