Debbie Palmer, 68, of Gahanna, passed away Thursday morning, January 17, 2019, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 21, 1950, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Carl Bernard and Idella Mae (Magrath) Bair.
Debbie retired as a Intervention Specialist with Jefferson Elementary School. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Key West, where she visited many times for the last 20 years. Her best friend and soul mate was her husband of almost 21 years, Doug Palmer. Debbie was dearly loved by all and will remain special in their hearts forever. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family. Debbie's perfect place would include polar bears, palm trees and a well-stocked library. She is now in a place that brings all of those things and more to her.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Palmer; two sons, Brian (Beth) McFarland and Chris (Sharon) McFarland; and two grandsons, Jack and Cooper McFarland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred and Ed Bair.
She has been laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood or the Columbus Literacy Council.
