
Delbert E. Smith, 79, of Mansfield, died late Monday evening, December 8, 2003, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Born August 14, 1924, in Murray, Ohio to George and Hazel May Osborne Smith, Delbert was an area resident most of his life. He retired after 35 years of service with Ohio Brass. He attended Citi Church.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Bertha George Smith; children and their spouses, Patricia Clark, Gloria and Ed Wiseman, all of Mansfield, Kathy and Robert Bailey of Columbus, Roy and Brenda Smith of Mansfield, Cheryl and Tom Hardin of Shelby, Robin Rossman, Karen and Cecil Ramey, Shirley Dyer and Robbie and Shelly Smith, all of Mansfield; ninety-two grandchildren and 13 grandchildren-in-law; four brothers, Bob Smith, Raymond Smith, Stanley Smith and Cecil Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Earl, and sisters, Margaret, Loretta and Marybell.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, December 11 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rob Yanok of Citi Church and Micah Pelkey. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
