
Donald E. Jackson, 72, of Mansfield, died Monday morning, December 22, 2003, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a short stay at Woodlawn Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was born October 7, 1931, in Richlands, Virginia to Taylor and Bessie Sisk Jackson. Donald was formerly employed as a salesman with Prudential Insurance. He was a member of Cook Road Baptist Church, Amvets and V.F.W. Donald enjoyed cooking at church functions, hunting, fishing, traveling and playing golf. He served with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa Lynn Jackson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Donna Christine and Col. Howard Bud May of Xenia, Ohio and Melanie and Tom Briner of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Charlie Brinegar and Rachel Brinegar; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Lee and Deborah Jackson of Shiloh and Harmon and Louise Jackson of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hobart Jackson; and sister, Nancy Bostic.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, December 26 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Jack Hackworth, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
