Donna Urban

Donna A. Etzwiler Urban, age 92, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. She was the only child of the late Ralph and Mary (Vogel) Etzwiler, born on June 30, 1920.

Donna was a 1938 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church. She married Ernest G. Urban on August 3, 1946 and they made their home in Richland County. In addition to caring for her family, she was employed at The Country Store of Lucas for many years. Donna was a charter member of the Ohio Genealogical Society, and was a member of First Families of Ohio, First Families of Richland and Ashland Counties, Civil War Families of Ohio, and Century Families of Ohio.

In addition, she was a member of Jared Mansfield Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, charter member of Butler-Clearfork Valley Historical Society and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Y.W.C.A. She was a charter member of the Samuel Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the War of 1812 and was the great-great granddaughter of Samuel Lewis.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Eileen (James) Nunamaker and Janice (Kevin) Crowl; grandchildren, Erica (David) Bayes, Elise Elliott, Elizabeth Barley, Edith (Terry) Emerson, Matt (Mindy) Demyan and Rachel (Sean) Noonan; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service conducted by Rev. Andrew W. Jones will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Genealogical Society, Richland County, 611 St. Rt. 97 West, Bellville, OH 44813-8813.
