
Earnestine Jefferson, 81, of Mansfield, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at Triumph Hospital. Born January 21, 1929 in Canton, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Butler and Mimie Colman Melton. Earnestine worked as a Home Health Aide for 10 years and at Mifflin Care for 5 years. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses where she enjoyed the field ministry for over 45 years. A passionate and caring person, Earnestine loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. In her spare time, she enjoyed singing, dancing and fishing.
She is survived by her children, Gloria James Evans of Mansfield, Genevieve Edward Rumph of Cleveland, Clyde Jefferson, Lowell Jefferson Joe both of Mansfield, and Gennice Terry Sr. Foster of Akron; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; six brothers; five sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Jefferson; son, Larry Jefferson; two brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call Monday, January 3, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Ron Miller. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Following the burial, a gathering of friends and family will be held at the Life Celebration Reception Center.
