Eddie Seamour, age 91, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield after suffering from many health issues related to a stroke in 2021. He was born on April 2, 1934, in Ft. Gay, West Virginia, to Edward and Oma Elizabeth (Kilbourne) Seamour.
An extremely hard worker, he loved being outdoors. He was determined and to a point, stubborn. He was a laborer at Tappan for 37 ½ years, retiring when they closed. An avid vegetable gardener, many enjoyed the bounty of his work, especially the corn harvest. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Every morning, he would have coffee at his brother Joe’s farm, along with his nephew Gary and other friends.
Eddie was a huge Cleveland Indians fan. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland and reunited with co-workers at Tappan’s Quarterly Club meetings. A good political debate was one of his favorite past times. He had many friends in the Amish community, and he always enjoyed his conversations with them.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mazella “Mae” Seamour; five children, Connie (Jerry) Ball, Dwaine (Milli) Seamour, Carol (Brian) Peoples, Carla (Darryl) Johns, and Cheryl (Kevin) Arnold; grandchildren, Jenny Phelps, Julie Maglott, Erika Stuart, Kyle Johns, Cody Johns, Colton Johns, Carly Johns, Derek Davies, and Erin Saris; brother, Joe Seamour; sister, Lee Curley; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great-grandchildren.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Oma Elizabeth (Kilbourne) Seamour; son, Jerry Seamour; a sister-in-law; eight sisters, Betty, Stella, Edith “Gooden”, Virginia, Audrey, Freda, Emma, and Libby and their spouses.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Mel, Jaimie, Kelly, Brittney, Kris, Sheila, Susan, Kim, and Beth, Compassus Hospice and OhioHealth Hospital staff.
