Following college, Ed’s career took him and his family to Michigan, Indiana, and Connecticut before eventually returning to the Mansfield area, where he retired from MTD Corporation.
Ed was married to his beloved wife, Marilyn “Maril” Davison (Heslep), for 59 wonderful years until her passing on April 6, 2020. Together they built a loving family and raised two children, Scott and Lee.
Throughout his working years and into retirement, Ed made time to enjoy life with family and friends. He loved traveling, visiting many national parks, and organizing golf outings.
Ed and Maril shared a passion for antiques, auctions, and cutting firewood. They were known for their warm hospitality, always welcoming friends and family with an open door.
He also dedicated many years to volunteering with AARP, helping others with annual tax returns. In more recent years, Ed lived at the Waterford in Mansfield, where he spent about five years and discovered a joy in singing alongside bands, quartets, and Christmas carolers.
Ed will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
