She was born March 22, 1977, in Shelby, Ohio. She was employed as a call representative at School Specialty. Eli loved spending time with her family and pets. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, cornhole and Bingo. She enjoyed singing and listening to music, especially 80s music. Eli will be remembered fondly for her energetic and outgoing personality.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Gentry; three children, Corey, Keeley and Haley Gentry; parents, Della Jean (Boyce) and William Clifford Sampsel; a sister, Billie Jean Sampsel Jordan; two brothers, Andrew (Holly) Sampsel and Christopher Sampsel; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; an aunt, Susan Heslup; and an uncle, Edward (Cindy) Sampsel.
Eli was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Lucille Sampsel and Glen and Ruby Boyce; two aunts, Bonnie Boyce and Connie (Bob) Charles; an uncle, Dan (Shirley) Boyce; and two cousins, Diana Lumadue and Shelly Boyce.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the funeral home at 10:00 am. Eli will be laid to rest in Myers Cemetery in Shelby.
