
Elizabeth A. Pierce, 89, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016, at her home. She was born April 30, 1927, in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Thelma (Sharar) Muir.
Elizabeth made a wonderful home for her family and had a great love of animals. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for several years. She was a longtime member of Crestline United Methodist Church. Elizabeth's caring and unconditional love and acceptance of others will live on in the lives she touched.
She is survived by three children, Deborah Pierce (Jay Cline), Harry "Bud" Pierce and Amy Pierce; five grandchildren, James Bayles, Mary Pierce-Broadwater, Amanda Pierce, Raymond Pierce and Zoe Bucilla; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Kali Bayles; two brothers, William (Cathy) Muir and James (Patty) Muir, both of Florida; and two sisters, Penny Muir of California and Jean (Ollie) Liukkonen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Raymond Pierce; and brother, Jack Muir.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Becky Weamer officiating. Elizabeth will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
